Government, Advocacy, and Lobbying

CRICC has been a leader in legal advocacy, acting in the courts, legislatures and through regulatory process at the federal, state, and local levels. These skills are critically needed today as conservative legal foundations are organizing to use the Supreme Court’s upcoming decisions on affirmative action in higher education to eviscerate MBE programs. The MBE community requires advocacy both to fight for MBEs in the legal fights ahead and to advocate for assertive and creative pro-MBE policies in the aftermath of the legal fights. CRICC can provide insight and expertise to the courts in key litigation as well as assist the broader community in understanding and adapting to court decisions. In addition, CRICC, as a trusted member of the community, is well-placed to lead efforts to collect and document evidence of discrimination in minority contracting to bolster MBE programs both in the judicial and legislative arenas.
